Jungfraujoch + Panoramaweg

I'm trying to see Jungfraujoch and do the walk from Männlichen to Kleine Schiedegg (Panoramaweg) on the same day next month. The issue I'm finding is that if I do Jungfraujoch first, then I end up doing the walk on the way back down and it's in the less-scenic direction, requiring lots of turning around for photos and views. If I do the walk first, then it's more likely that the mountains will be clouded over by the time I arrive around noon.

Am I missing an obvious solution or will I just have to pick the relatively less worse option? If so, I'm inclined to prioritize Jungfraujoch given the cost of the tickets up there.

Side question: If I book seat reservations for Jungfraujoch, will it be possible to change the return time if needed, or can I wait in the standby line for a different time? I had thought to allocate four hours so that we could hike to the Mönchsjochhütte as well but could see us changing our minds once we're up there.

Thanks! Hard to believe it's only a month away now!

Do you mean if you want to be less than 4 hours? If so, I would keep the reservations so you know what time you have a guaranteed seat down to do your hike. If you decide to cut that short, you can always get in the standby line to see if you can get an earlier departure.

Having seen the crowds jostling to get on the train to Jungfraujoch from Kleine Scheidegg, and reading about it getting even worse once you land at Jungfraujoch, we decided it wasn't worth it. Instead, we walked down to Wengernalp from Kleine Scheidegg, enjoying the spectacular scenery on the way.
