Jungfraujoch and Central Europe in Winter

Hello
I will be travelling to Europe in December and January with my family, and will be spending some time in Switzerland. I am wanting to know if, at this time of the year, if it is worthwhile travelling to Jungfraujoch. I do realise that it is a weather dependant site - magnificent on a clear day, but not so much to see if its cloudy or poor weather. What I want to know is is it really worth organising to stay nearby in the hope of having clear weather, or is clear weather quite unlikely at that time of the year. I have only travelled to Europe in the Summer and Spring, never during winter before.
Any other advice of good things to do and see at this time of the year through Central Europe would be appreciated too.
Thanks :)

I've been to the Berner Oberland in January and it was mostly clear brilliant weather. No telling.
Keep in mind that the two weeks of Christmas and New Years is family ski vacation time and lodging in the mountains will be scarce and at a premium price.

We love that area in winter (and in fall, too)! We had a terrific winter hiking trip there a couple of years ago with mostly brilliant weather. You just have to decide when you get up in the AM if the weather is good enough to go to the Jungfraujoch. On the other hand, it can be cloudy in the valley and beautiful up top.

How many nights are you allocating to the Berner-Oberland? Do you hike or ski? When you say "Central Europe" what countries are you including and how long is your total trip? You could easily spend 2 weeks in Switzerland, but it depends on what you like to do.

We were there in early November and no way were we going to miss out on the Alps. Just remember it's a winter alpine climate so it'll be COLD. Consider Schilthorn instead of, or in addition to, Jungfrau. then you have more options.
