I am trying to purchase top of europe tickets through jungfrau.ch It says a seat reservation is required, but the option to do that is not allowing me to click on it. I'm confused.

Just wait till you are here and buy your tickets at the station, once you know what the weather is going to be.

I agree. It’s a lot of money to pay if it’s all clouded in. Even though it was very crowded last August we had no problem getting seats the morning we went.

Yes we bought ours the evening before via the app when we knew the weather should be clear last August. Go early, starts to get crowded about 10:30 AM. We were staying in Murren.
