Jungfrau region: few rainy days in October?

I've bookmarked the webcams for Kleine Scheidegg and Maennlichen, and it seems like every day in October has had glorious, sunny weather. During my visit to Murren and Lauterbrunnen in June, it rained every other day.

Is this October just an exception, or is October usually the best time to visit the Jungfrau region every year based on seasonal weather trends?

I have a friend who was in Berner Oberland last October. I warned her that it had been chilly and wet there in September so of course as you get closer to winter you'd expect it to just get wetter and chillier, right? They stayed in Murren and had glorious weather all four days!

This October is very abnormal. Many degrees above average. By mid October it should be wet and cloudy, with the first snow on the hills - not this year. This October, summer has been refusing to end. I have given up wearing a jacket to and from work. It is getting into the low 20's every day (down in the city, not up in the mountains). Minimal rain for weeks, rivers are low. Today (Saturday) it was cloudless blue sky, peaked at 24°C and I even saw some people swimming in the Rhine. The only non-summer thing is it gets dark early, it is now 19:10 and already dark outside.

Normally May, Jun, July good, October not good. This year not so.

We have been there in October 3 times, each time for a week or more, inclueing this year (although this year we arrived in the last few days of Sept and left on Oct 3). Each year we have had good weather, overall. In 2015 it was postcard perfect and in 2016 during 9 days we only had one full day of rain and some cloudiness.

As Chris said, this year it was like endless summer although our final full day was rainy and we enjoyed taking a short break from major hiking as a “day off” after several weeks of travel.

With climatic issues, who knows from year to year? We froze in Amsterdam and Munich in early Sept 2017, but had warm days with no rain for two weeks in London in late October last year.
