Jungfrau marathon - crowds?

Hi-
I just saw that the Jungfrau Marathon is taking place around the same time as we were planning to get to the Jungfrau region - Wengen, Murren, etc. Has anyone had experience with that? Will it still be mobbed if we come the day after the marathon? It's kind of throwing a kink in. my plans......... :(
Thanks!

We happened to be in Wengen during the Jungfrau Marathon nine years ago. It didn’t affect anything we were wanting to do and actually added to the overall fun. We cheered on the runners as they went through Wengen. The only issue was that it was crowded when we were up at Kleine Scheidegg, and we quickly got on a crowded train….that ended up going the wrong direction for us, so we had to pay to get back up again & then down to Wengen.

I was there in 2021 during the marathon. We noticed no crowds, but we did do our lake thun boat ride that day. And I don’t think things were back to normal yet post covid. So, there could be more people racing this year. I wouldn’t worry about I though. Just stay away from the course if you want to avoid it.

The marathon is the weekend of Sept. 8 and 9 this year.
