I will be staying in Grindelwald on September 25 and 26th. I want to go to the top of the Jungfraujoch. How exactly do I buy the tickets? Can I get them on Rick Steves website, should I get them from your whale, or SBB? Confused.

The most common advice I see is to wait until you are there in Grindelwald(or at least in Switzerland) and know what the weather will be like. There are webcams that will give you an idea of what the top of the mountain looks like at that time and you can ask at your hotel for current conditions or advice.
Don't buy until the day-of. Get up, check the web cams and forecast, and if it all looks good go as early as possible to minimize crowds and get the best weather. Just buy them at the Grindlewald train station.
best advice has already been given in the two posts above.
No, Rick doesn't sell them.
The SBB does but much better to do as said above and watch the weather. You can use the ticket offices - any ticket office in Switzerland - or your phone, or go to the website of the Jungfraubahn and do it there... https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfraujoch-top-of-europe/buy-jungfraujoch-ticket/ Their website also has several live webcams - check before you go. When it is busy it is strongly advised to get seat reservations.
From Grindelwald you can either take the train to Lauterbrunnen and then the train up via Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg or directly from Grindelwald, or there is now a third choice, a cable car direct from Grindelwald part way up the mountain where you get on the train.
should I get them from your whale
I'm sorry, I really don't have a clue what that means. ??
Your whale: I'll bet she means "Eurail". Answer: no. Buy the day of at the local railway station.
If you're going to be doing a lot of rail travel in Switzerland, you may be able to save some money with one of the rail passes. There is a Jungfrau pass but with only two days it may not be cost effective - https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfrau-travel-pass/ .
As the others have mentioned just buy your tickets at the local station, as that's the easiest and quickest method. The trip to the Jungfraujoch is one of the most expensive in that area. As suggested it's a good idea to check the web cams on the morning you plan to travel, as you won't see much at the top if it's shrouded in fog. You'll have to change trains at Kleine Scheidegg for the trip to the top.
One other point to mention.... the top of the Jungfraujoch is about 11,000 feet so if you've ever experienced any altitude-related issues, that's something to keep in mind. I didn't have any major problems during the time I was there, but found that I was moving more slowly, and stairs were more of an effort.
Another thing to add is when purchasing your ticket they ask you how long you would like to stay up at the top for. Mind you there is plenty of things to do when you are at the top such as exploring the ice caves, taking pictures near the Top of Europe flag, gift store and chocolate store purchases, interactive experiences, and even a 30 min hike to a restaurant is worth the trek. My recommendation to not stress timing on all these activities and choose your timing to stay up at the top for at-least 4 hours or a max of 6 hours for a complete experience of the Jungfraujoch. Plus, they have seating area outside on the snow where you can purchase teas and beverages and pastries that I recommend to relax and unwind there!
Your whale: I'll bet she means "Eurail".
Maybe its Cockney rhyming slang.🙂
One other point about visiting the Jungfraujoch and buying food or souvenirs there. It's very pricey so be sure to budget accordingly (that's true of Switzerland in general).
Just did this trip last month, bought tickets at the Wengen station the day of. Wait for a clear morning to make the trip. Another tip if you’re traveling with kids 15 and under, bring proof of their ages. It was only $20 for my daughters ticket, compared to $200 for the adults.
Let me repeat that you should indeed just buy the tickets at the station here. They are just train tickets after all. And you want to know what the weather is.
Another thing: What other things have you planned in Switzerland? You can buy a "Swiss Half Fare Card", for 120,- which comes with a free Swiss Family Card. With that card the adults travel at half price on all public transport, but also on mountain railways like the Jungfraujoch, and the kids travel for free. For families a good deal and the up front investment is mostly paid back already with this one expensive trip.
But with this card now the trip from the Airport to Grindelwald is half price as well, as are all other possible trips you may have thought of.

(If you were planning on getting a rental car you may want to reconsider...)
