Two small comments: In Lauterbrunnen, do the Jungfraujoch on the first day and time the weather is good on top. That is, go on morning of day 4 if its nice, or day 6 if you can wait. Its much more worth it if its clear on top. Day 7-8, you can get to Zurich Airport rail station from Luzern in about 1 hour 20 minutes, some trains direct, and some with a short change at Zurich HBF. So you might consider just staying the night in Luzern.

I understand you might feel better being at an airport hotel near Zurich for the night. If possible, try to get to Lucerne early enough to wander around a bit rather than just dinner. It's a lovely little town - very walkable with nice views of the lake and mountains.

If you confine your hikes to "the Lauterbrunnen valley", you're missing out on some other wonderful views.

Get up to Murren or Mannlichen (our fav is the Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg hike of 1.5 hrs).

If you want to see the options, click on my name and you'll find the link to our dozen fav trails, with maps and pics.

Thank you. Yes, they were planning to do some of the hikes on your list up from the valley floor. Love the link "Shoe". Thanks so much for all the hike information.

Have you ever been to Glacier 3000? Is it worth the time.? Seems like time might be tight on Day 3 and 4.

Also, was thinking time was tight to leave in morning from Lucerne to catch 11:45 am flight in Zurich. Been to Lucerne, very lovely. I am suggesting they get there as early as possible. Maybe stay night if seems like ok to make flight from there.

I would not change lodging for one night in Montreux. Keep your place in Lausanne and return there after your day in-and-around Montreux. Ask locally about Glacier 3000 and alternatives. There is hiking above Montreux (easily accessible from Lausanne) at Les Pleiades.
