Weather considerations for 1st week of May !

Hello folks,
My wife, me and our 3 year old kid will be traveling to Europe from 29th April to 14th May. We plan to spend about 5 (2nd-6th May) days in Switzerland during that time. We wanted to visit places such as Lucerne, Interlaken, Mt Titlis our main intention being spending time in the mountains.
I wanted to get an idea if it is actually a good idea to visit the above places during this time from a weather standpoint. Would it be really cold or wet in these places to travel with a three year old. We are not interested in skiing but love to do some medium level hiking if time permits.
Any suggestions truly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance
Regards,
Suhail

The weather is highly variable in the first week of May. Warm, cold, sun, rain, snow (in the higher elevation towns) are all distinct possibilities. Bitter mid-winter cold is very unlikely. You won't likely need a winter coat, but pack layers for warmth. Lower-elevation walking trails should be open but not the higher ones.
