Itinerary planning

I need help figuring out the best way to get from St. Gallen to Provence or a point in the south of France via the Glacier Express as far as possible

Once in the south of France I'm looking for recommendations for a cooking class or coming demonstration of local cuisine.

From Zermatt it is about 4 hours to Geneva by rail. From there it is another 8 hours to Nice by rail. You could also investigate flight options out of Geneva.

You will probably have better luck with your question on French cuisine if you make a seperate post in the France forum.

I see 8 hours from Zurichnto Aix-en-Provence via Geneva and Lyon. The Glacier Express is way off this route and it would add a LOT of time to detour down to St. Moritz to ride the whole thing (to Zermatt). You could ride the section between Andermatt and Brig by adding about 4 hours, but is that worth the trouble?
