We will be traveling to Wengen from Lyon - train to Geneva and then onwards to Lauterbrunnen. First day will arrive early to mid afternoon in Lauterbrunnen. We have that afternoon/evening, the following full day, and then on the third day we would like to take the scenic train (Golden Pass vs other) to go from Wengen back to Geneva via Montreux. We fly out of Geneva the following day.
Itinerary help requested:
1) How can we maximize our time in the Bernese Oberland? Some of our group want to do Schiltorn - how long does that realistically take? And I definitely would like to do the hike/walk from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg. Our hotel is in Wengen. And suggestions to accomplish both of those, plus see other must see sights or hikes without feeling frantic appreciated.
2) Golden Pass vs faster train to allow a little bit of time in Montreux but still arrive in Geneva by early evening to have dinner and rest?
3) Any thoughts on Swiss Travel Pass vs half fare card for above timeline?
Thanks so much in advance!
