Itinerary Help - Finalizing?

We have been scouring information to come up with a plan for a Aug/Sept trip to Switzerland, but we have a few questions:
We have 2 options at this point.
Question 1: One plan right now adds up to 11 days, and while we can swing the extra day, we would might prefer to make it 10 days. Is there a way to remove a day without seriously sacrificing anything? If so, where should we cut a day?
Question 2: We have Bern as part of our itinerary for Plan B. Would Bern be recommended as a worthwhile day trip?
Question 3: Should we try to find a way to see Geneva or Zurich?
Thank you for any comments or suggestions!

Plan A: 11 days
1) Arrive in Zurich > Lucerne
2-3) Lucerne (3 nights total Lucerne)
4) Lucerne > Wengen
5-7) Wengen (4 nights total Wengen)
8) Wengen > Montreux
9-10) Montreux ( 3 nights total Montreux)
11) Leave from Geneva

Plan B:
1) Arrive in Zurich (1 night Zurich)
2) Zurich > Bern (1 night Bern)
3) Bern > Wengen
4-6) Wengen (4 nights Wengen)
7) Wengen > Lucerne
8-9) Lucerne (3 nights Lucerne)
10) Exit Zurich

IMO, I would go with Plan A and spend one less night in Lucerne. If this is for this year, you’re a bit late for hotel reservations!

You can easily do day trips to Bern and/or Zurich from Luzern if you decide you want to see them. One night stays are rarely a good idea. Stick with Plan A.

I'd also stick with plan A unless you know you like 1-night stays. I'd head down to Bern for a day only if the weather was bad or you had enough of the mountains and wanted a change. But I should admit that I have not been to Bern. I'm sure I would like it, if I had the time to visit, but there is so much to do in your other locations.

Edited to add: I would not cut a night unless you have a compelling reason to do so.

Plan A for sure. We did similar in June. 2 nights Lucerne (which is enough) we saw the town, went to the castle and went to mount pilatus, then 4 nights in grindelwald (visited lauterbrunnen, Murren, gimmelwald, first, brienz and the waterfall. Then got the golden pass express to Montreux where 2 nights was enough. Also flew into Zurich and put of Geneva.

Thank you for all your comments - they helped a lot. We are finding better hotel options in Lausanne than Montreux. Is there compelling reasons to stay in Montreux over Lausanne. Or, Is Lausanne a good option too?

Save a day with Plan A by leaving Zurich upon arrival and heading directly to Bern, or Lausanne, or Montreux. I liked Montreux more than Lausanne...I know nothing about Lucerne, would rather spend that time in the Interlaken area, boat rides on the lakes, etc.

Doing 6 nights in Montreux and Lausanne seems excessive to me. Spend another night or two in the mountains - that is the reason for going to Switzerland in the first place.
