Hi we are spending 9 nights in Switzerland next month, flying in and out of Zurich. We plan to spend 5 days in Wengen hiking in the area (easy hikes). Can anyone suggest where we can spend the other 4 days? Appenzell? Lugano? Many Thanks in advance.

I love Appenzell, for the architecture, museums, and cheese as much as the mountains and would include sights in neighboring Stein and Urnasch. But with 4 days there, you'll have plenty of time for hiking and other interests. Is that the pace that you're looking for?
