Is this sequence logical?

We will be traveling by train in Switzerland next summer, visiting the following areas, in the listed sequence. over a period of 16 days or so:

Arrive Zurich early a.m., travel to Appenzell/Ebernalp immediately
Luzern
Zermatt
Bernese Oberland
Bern/Murten
And back to Zurich

Is this a logistically logical sequence, or is there a better one? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Yes, that works.

Though, after a few days in the Lauterbrunnen Valley area - try Muerren if you can - you may wondewr why you spent a day at Zermatt.

YMMV

Nigel and Chris, thank you for your quick replies! We are planning only 2 days in Zermatt (so my husband can hopefully see the Matterhorn, I've been there before). We are planning 6-7 days in Murren (have been there before also but first trip for my husband). We would like to do some easy bike rides in addition to many hiking days, and the only places on our trip I can think of that might be flat enough would be the Lauterbrunen Valley and perhaps the Lake Luzern area, but I don't have any specific information on that bike trails or bike rentals. Good to know that the sequence of the above stops would work well. Thanks again for your assistance.
