Hi all,
I'm travelling from La Spezia to Lauterbrunnen in late June, and I've booked my tickets La Spezia to Milano and Milano to Spiez. I'll but a ticket in Switzerland at the station in Spiez for the onward journey as research tells me there isn't any point buying this leg of my journey in advance (and I'll get a Swiss half fare card too). I'm just wondering that as I have to stop and get a ticket in Spiez, would it be worth checking out Spiez as they have a left luggage facility for a few hours, then getting back on the train to continue to Lauterbrunnen?
Thanks in advance!
We find Spiez to be a worthy stop between the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Milan, which is our routing. we stop on the way back, timing it for a walk and lunch, usually 3 hours. Walk down to the lake and the castle.
Thanks for the advice. That's exactly what I was thinking of doing! Thanks again!
We spent a night in Spiez and did what Laurel said - wandered down to the lakefront and admired the castle - we didn't go in. One other interested - albeit morbid for some - thing we did was walk thru the graveyard at the church and there were really interesting grave stones, it you like that kind of thing.
