I'm wondering if Ringgenberg would be a convenient base while spending 3 or so days in the Interlaken area.
It looks to be well connected via train to Interlaken Ost. I guess it depends on what you want to see. If you're coming to see the stunning alps and the alpine villages please realize those are NOT in Interlaken. When I go to the Interlaken "Area" I transfer trains at Interlaken Ost and head straight to the Lauterbrunnen Valley with the stunning Swiss Alps towering all around you along with plenty of hotels and restaurants. The little car-free alpine villages of Murren and Wengen sit on opposite side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley with magnificent views from both villages (along with plenty of hotels and restaurants). I really don't know why people go to "Interlaken" and stay when they COULD be right in the middle of all the stunning alpine scenery.
Traveling from Ringgenberg to Lauterbrunnen each day (to access points in and above the valley) will add 40-50 minutes travel time each way, versus staying in Lauterbrunnen itself. The connections will of course be easy.
I agree totally.
