Is it redundant to go to stay in Luzerne (3 nights) and BO/Murren 3 nights

Hi.

If we want a mix of mountain and town, do you think three nights in Luzerne (including our arrival night from the US) and 3 or 4 nights in Murren/BO would fit the bill?

I have been to both, and that is an absolutely perfect idea. If you can extend Murren, I would.

Not at all redundant! Lucerne is lovely and on a lake, but Murren is much smaller and up in the mountains.

As mountain weather is so moody , this gives you many opportunities to explore summits. If you have a clear morning, go to a peak! Each has their own personality and offers a different adventures, and are at different altitudes. So if it's clear in Lucerne, go to Rigi and/or Pilatus (half day, usually) and Stanserhorn for the sunset. For a further journey, go to Mt Titlus.
I have never experienced too many summits, and you can never predict when cloudy weather comes in and the peak is socked in. I agree, maximize the BO, do three nights in Lucerne, and 4-5 in the BO. No one is ever ready to leave the BO. Have a great trip!
