Invitation in Switzerland

Should we bring something? We have a kitchen so maybe a typical American dessert like apple pie or cupcakes?? What's the protocol?

Wow! I'm still in shock! We went for wine tasting at one of the local wineries (caves) right near us in Salavaux, Switzerland 🇨🇭and had a fabulous time. The owner was there and we spent 1-1/2 hours talking in part English and part German (Karen speaks very little German but tries). We ended up leaving with 3 (complimentary) bottles of their wine, 2 logo glasses AND AN INVITATION to come back on Wednesday evening for wine and fondue!!! Absolutely a "Rick Steves" moment! 😉

Wow - sounds like you made favorable impressions! If you baked a pie, would you have the means to leave it with them, rather than having a pie pan to reclaim later? In this case, a bottle of wine would be redundant . . . Maybe a reciprocal invitation to meet you if they make the trip to Idaho?

Have you had an opportunity to discuss Idaho vs. sSiss potatoes? 😉
