What is the best way by train to get from Interlaken to Venice? We will most likely rent a car while in Switzerland, but plan to return it in Interlaken.

jkbriggs, dont know what you mean by best, but you dont have to plan the route choosing connections - the website of your choice will show you the most efficient routes. Start with sbb.ch/en (Swiss Rail) or bahn.com (German rail which shows routes but does not sell tickets outside of Germany) trainline.eu, etc.

You can pick up a direct train to Venice in Brig. You'd leave in the morning by taking trains to Spiez, then Brig. Trains at other times by changing trains in Milan.
