Interlaken Ost to Luzern Which Side of the Train Should I Choose?

We will be travelling from Interlaken Ost to Luzern this summer with our Berner Oberland pass but I'd like to buy a seat reservations (5 in our group).

Rick's book suggests sitting on the right side when going from Luzern to Interlaken. So, I would naturally choose the left side when going from Interlaken to Luzern. I went to the Zentralbahn web site and tried to buy seat reservations but got totally confused.

What is confusing is that it suggests the "right side" whether going to or from Luzern. Further, the seat map is not at all clear with regard to the direction of travel. So, I can't seem figure out which side is the right/ left side.

This shouldn't be this tough. What am I overlooking?

Thanks.

The confusion lies in the fact that the train changes directions at Meiringen. Therefor the right hand side is the preferred side departing both Luzern and Interlaken.

So departing Interlaken, the right side will give views of the Brienzersee and the waterfalls. Departing Meiringen, you will now be on the left side climbing up to the Bruenig Pass, with more waterfall views across the valley. Descending the Bruenig Pass, you will have good views of the valley below.

The Zentralbahn site indicates that the right hand side departing Interlaken is the lower rows on the seating diagram.

Thanks to all, especially Sam.

I missed "The Zentralbahn site indicates that the right hand side departing Interlaken is the lower rows on the seating diagram." That was the key I needed. Seat reservations made!
