Hi everyone! Is both the Aaere Gorge and the Gelmerbahn doable in one day? If so, how do I travel to both from Interlaken? And besides riding the Gelmerbahn, what else is there to do in the area.

You’ll have to look at the timings but you get a train from Interlaken Ost to Meiringen. From Meiringen either get the little train to the Aareschluct West stop or walk to the Aareschluct Ost entrance and then walk through the gorge to the East entrance and then pick up a bus to get you the the stop for the Gelmerbahn.
It might be better to go to the Gelmerbahn first and then walk through the gorge on your way back.
If you did them on 2 separate days you could add in the Reichenbach Falls or go up the cable car to Reuti and onwards up by gondola to Magisalp and then to Planplatten. The view from there is wonderful. A real 360 degree view, to Titlis one way and the Eiger the other way plus more.
