I've seen very opposite reviews on IBIS in Chur. We are there for our first 2 nights of our trip in the middle of May - 2 adults and 2 young children. The alternative is Ambiente Hotel Freieck. Thoughts?

Are you looking at reviews on Tripadvisor? The Ibis rating seems pretty typical for a budget chain hotel. The complaints about noise from the busy street might put me off. As for the dated rooms, I see the Freieck gets a few comments about that as well, but is higher placed. It also seems to be about $100 more per night for a family room sleeping 4.
How do they compare for location? That is often the deciding factor for us.

Well, a Mickey D's right in the hotel! Kids will love it. Bus to the train station right next door.
