I have 6 Days in Switzerland to plan...

Is it too far fro take the train from Zurich Airport to Lugano if I land at 2pm? Im thinking 2 nights here. Favorite places to stay within easy reach of the train?

Next stop would be Zermatt for 2 nights. Easy to reach from Lugano? Favorite place to stay in Zermatt?

Next stop would be Lauterbunnen or Grindelwald? Favorite place to stay in either of those?

Then onto Lausanne for a 4 day meeting. I'll have some time for day trips there too. Any suggestions?

I'm worried about doing too much, or repeating the same experience in the ALPS.
Thank you!

What month???

I agree I didn't think Lugano was that special, either- with so many high-end stores on a lake, chain stores which are everywhere. You are spending alot of time traveling to the far ends of Switzerland, Zermatt and Lugano, when you can have a far better Alps and lake experiences in the Berner Oberland and Lucerne, with less time on a train. The Alps never get old, as each hour and changing light gives one a different perspective on their magnificence, which is why so many of us visit them as often as we can, IMHO.

A suggestion-
Zurich to Lucerne for 2-3 nights [ Mt Rigi, Mt Pilatus, Mt Stanserhorn;]
Lucerne to the Berner Oberland for as many nights as possible [Wengen or Murren, Junfraujoch and Schilthorn summits;]
Lausanne for your meeting [side trips to Montreaux, Chillon Castle, Vevey.]

Mountain weather is moody, so having extra days will give you more possibilities for a beautiful summit visit.

And I LOVED Lugano. A small sophisticated city in a beautiful location. I lucked into a perfect May day. Temps in the low 20s C, clear blue skies. I dream of winning the super lotto and moving there. One of my favourite places in Switzerland.

But people on this forum advised me to skip it too when I planned my 2019 trip. I was trying to decide between Locarno and Lugano, and everyone said Locarno. But I just had to go up San Salvatore, so we did both, and I'm so glad. Locarno was very nice, and I'd go back there too. But I loved Lugano.
