I am in Luzern and need to know the most cost effective way to go to Mt Titlis and back

I bought a Swiss half fare card after much thought and so far has made use of Zurich to Luzern only. I will be in Luzern tomorrow and day after and I want to go to Mt Titlis to show snow to my kids. Snow is what we have been looking forward to in the whole trip. I see lot of tours from Luzern. One saying 132 per person to Mt Titlis. But I want to make use of the card and googled a bit on the cost but unable to figure it. What is the most economical way for 2 adults and 2 kids under 6 years to go to Mt Titlis from Luzern and back. We are staying in Kriens if that helps. It's just 6 mins from Luzern main train station by train. Other option is Mt Pilatus but not sure if there would be snow.

Take the train from Lucerne Station to Engleberg and then follow the signs to the cable station. you might enjoy a walk round Trubsee on the way up or down. Trains leave from platforms 11 or 12, and the journey takes about 45 minutes.

niz,

I'd suggest going to the Tourist Information office in the Lucerne station and talk to them. They'll be able to give you maps, directions and everything you need to make that trip.

Did you get the free Family Card when you got the Half fare card? Then the kids travel with you free everywhere you go.

Thanks everyone. Weather was bad. Was raining the whole day. Couldn't do anything. Went to auto museum. Not worth the entrance fee. Couldn't walk in the rain with kids nor could do much. tourist information also suggested that it won't be advisable to go to Titlis or Pilatus or anywhere else outdoor in this weather. Feels so down. Need to leave Luzern tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. Rain wrecked much of my trip to France last year. It happens.
