We are staying at Hotel de La Rouvenaz, and I know it's a short walk from the train station. But I'm sure I read somewhere that there was an elevator or an escalator involved in getting there, but I can't find where I read that. Anyone know?
If no one answers you could email the hotel.
Google maps is your friend. Montreux is small but hilly, the waterfront and some hotels are a level down from the train station. So you will be walking. There are some stairs, and elevators, and escalators, but the easiest thing is to just find a nearby street and (carefully) head downhill (cobblestones). I eventually found some of the above three but they weren't worth the effort.
And depending where in town your hotel is, hills might not be an issue.
Cindy,
According to the hotel website, it's only a 5 minute walk from the station.....
I realize that the hotel is very close by. We'll need to pick up our luggage from Express Baggage at the train station after we disembark. I'll email La Rouvenaz and find out exactly how we walk there. That 5 minutes probably involve an escalator or an elevator somewhere! LOL
