My husband and I will be in Murren for a week in June and plan to hike a lot. We never hike anywhere without our hiking poles. I just read another post about renting hiking poles so we don't have to bring checked luggage. How/where do you rent hiking poles in Murren?
There is a store in Murren that rents gear I'm sorry I don't know the name. You could Fed-x your poles before you leave to the place you plan on staying your first night. A better option if your first night is not in Murren as that would most likely be less expensive than up in Murren. I have Fed-x my whole suitcase to Europe before, much better than the time I went to Murren, my clothes when to Maui and Ski gear when to Amsterdam. J
If they don't have any there at that store in Murren, likely they will have some down in Lauterbrunnen or Interlaken.
Ask your hotel to see if they have some spares to be rented out.
I plan to check in my carry on with my poles if it doesn’t pass through TSA. But yes, I saw a sign at a store in Murren that they rent hiking poles when I was there in 2016.
Thanks everyone, we'll be in an apartment rental, not a hotel, so we can't ship them ahead or ask for help at a front desk. Good to know there are stores in Lauterbrunnen and Murren if we do carry on and not checked bags.
I contacted Intersport in Wengen and their rental was CHF 10 per day per pair. DH and I are one-pole hikers so just CHF per person! Or I suppose we could find a couple of sturdy sticks.......
