Hotels in Wengen with a view

I've always stayed in Lauterbrunnen, but want to help my daughter visiting Wengen next July for 3-4 nights, 2 people, with a hotel that has great views. Have heard about Maya Caprice, which is probably in the luxury price range in the July peak season. Are there other options that you can recommend? She can stay at the Maya Caprice if there isn't any other option between budget and luxury.

We just stayed at Hotel Braunbar in Wengen and loved it!

We met family in Wengen 2 weeks ago. We stayed in an apt. They stayed at Hotel Jungfraublick and had a room with a balcony and an excellent view. They very much enjoyed their stay. When they arrived at the train station they called the hotel to pick them up. They also got a return ride to the station as the hotel does require a bit of a walk up/down. It also included breakfast.

We stayed at Braunbär Hotel & Spa last year and were very happy with it. The hotel is great, our room had a balcony facing the street with a very nice view of the mountains, and the restaurant was surprisingly good. We ended up eating there two out of our eight nights. I recommend it.

Basically every hotel in Wengen has rooms on atleast one side of the hotel that have views. What you want is south facing so that they're overlooking the valley/mountains. Each hotel will have rooms that they consider panorama mountain view and you can typically see photos of what the view is like, as well as you can confirm with the one you're interested in that they have an unobstructed SOUTH facing mountain view with a balcony. It's worth any extra money to get balcony + south facing.

In addition to hotels you may want to look into chalet rentals, as often they are cheaper for the view quality and come with a kitchen or kitchenette to make your own breakfasts/lunches and even the possibility of balcony picnic dinners with a view often better than a restaurant, which helps greatly with budget. You can look on a website like chalet.myswitzerland.com, as well as e-domizil, interhome, Wengen apartment rentals, etc. to see available options.

Thanks all, for your suggestions! wanderweg, I'm going tell my daughter to ask for a South facing room with an unobstructed view, and even better read everyone's replies here.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Schönegg this past July. It has been a favorite of several other forum members. It was slightly less expensive than the Maya Caprice.
This was our 4th hotel in Wengen and our favorite. It was a short walk from the train station.
I loved our view from the balcony, which overlooked the town’s “main” street.
We also had a view of the Eiger (I think) from our balcony.
Breakfast was good. There was a choice of 3 “cooked to order” items.
Friendly, helpful staff.

Another vote for Hotel Schönegg in Wengen, but I have to say my favorite views are in Murren at the Hotel Edelweiss with a balcony literally hanging over Lauterbrunnen Valley.

If Hotel Baren is open again after its renovations we had a wonderful stay there - especially with half board. You can book a view to the valley. Such a wonderful staff! Delicious dinners and breakfast. We stayed summer 2025 for a week.
