I was checking for hotels with AC in Lucerne for 28-31 August . I am assuming the weather is going to be quite warm in August end. Most of the hotels I was looking at, don't seem to have AC.
Can someone let me know if it gets really warm at night in August?
At the end of August at night I would take my chances. Need for AC is very unlikely. We stayed in hotel Monopol and it has AC.
I've found that it's often very warm in Lucerne even in September (that was certainly the case when I was back there last September), so I would definitely recommend asking the hotel for a fan if no A/C is provided. August will be warmer, probably at least in the mid-20's range.
We were in Lucerne a few weeks ago (June 21-23, 2017), and it was very hot and humid. Highs were around 90 degrees F. We were able to hike comfortably during the day by ascending Mt. Rigi, and boat trips on the lake were pleasant. But it was uncomfortable walking around the city, and we were very grateful for the AC in our hotel at night. If it was that hot in June this year, I would not want to do without AC in August!
Be aware that the few hotels in Lucerne with AC are not cheap. We loved the Hotel Schweizerhof and would stay there again in a second, but it was a splurge. It was totally worth it for the AC alone, though.
Ken ,is it mid 20s even at night ?
CoralReef , I am looking at Hotel Ameron Flora presently and it is a bit of a splurge for me .
Yeah, Coral Reefer band!
