We will be spending 3 nights in Lausanne, Switzerland in early May 2023. A smaller hotel near the train station would be ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is a great metro system in Lausanne, so you would not have to stay right by the train station. The Port d'Ouchy area right on Lake Geneva is beautiful with a promenade and several hotels near it. You would just take the metro from Lausanne Gare to Ouchy-Olympique. We stayed at the the Beau Rivage Palace which was lovely. The Chateau d'Ouchy and Hotel Royal Savoy looked very nice also.

I stayed at the Hotel Elite in Lausanne and would certainly recommend it. The room was clean and comfortable and they served a nice breakfast. It's very easy to reach from the train station. It's only a short walk uphill, but as I recall there's also a concrete stairway that leads right up to the street that the hotel is on.
