I'd love some help knowing where to stay near the Zurich airport. I have an overnight layover there from Rome on my way to Alicante Spain and I would love to not spend the night in the airport.

Go to Radisson blu or the Hyatt at Circle. Both are in walking distance.

I've stayed at the Radisson Blu at ZRH and it was very nice and you can walk to the check in gates.

In addition to rolands’ suggestions, the airport website has info. on a transit hotel and dayrooms. I’m not familiar with those, but it might be worth looking into.

There is a very nice and large Holiday Inn Express but it is across the airport and requires their shuttle. The shuttle runs very frequently and they have done a nice job with the hotel (stayed June 2022) - but it is for sure less convenient than one with walking distance to the terminals.

The airport in Zürich is only about 9 minutes by train from the city, so I tend to stay near the main rail station in Zürich. I stayed at THIS HOTEL on my last visit and was very pleased with the service and quality of the room. It's about a four minute walk from there to the station (and even quicker via the underground mall, the entrance of which is about a minute or so from the hotel door).
As I recall, the stop for the sightseeing buses is right across the street from the hotel.

there's also a Hilton if you have privileges with them
