When we arrive in Basel our flight leaves the next day so was just wondering where to stay that convenient to both for when we arrive to the train station and leave next morning to airport . Thanks

Transportation in Basel is free with hotel reservation. We stayed at Motel One. It was very central to the sight seeing with easy access to the airport and train station. The hotel was very clean and the staff was exceptional and it was very reasonably priced. https://www.motel-one.com/en/hotels/basel/hotel-basel/ If you have the time, do some sightseeing. The rathuis on the marketplatz and munster are worth seeing. Behind the munster is a very nice view of the Rhine.

If you stay in Basel you get free public transport, including to the airport (regular bus from station). This makes it easy to get around and see things.
If you stay in St Louis (France) the hotel may be cheaper, but you will probably need a taxi to get there, a taxi to the airport and you will have problems getting into the city centre to see things.

There are a number of nice-looking hotels right across from the Basel SBB train station. We are staying at Hotel Gaia, but was also tempted by Hotel Euler. We are departing by train the next day, but I will bet there is good transport to the airport from there as well.

Basel SBB (main station) to airport:
Bus No. 50 leaves from outside the front of the station every 7½ minutes (plus extra buses in busy times). This bus IS included in the free transport pass you get if you stay in a hotel in Basel.

Thank you all! I had checked all the hotels and will stay at one listed just waiting to hear from which ones will let us stay in a quad room with 5 people (3 kids). Hate to get two rooms just for a short night stay.
