I am curious if anyone on the forum has stayed at the Hotel Jungfrau in Murren, Switzerland and what did they think of the hotel? Pros and cons.
In 2024 we stayed at the Hotel Jungfrau as part of the Rick Steves GAS tour. We found it very comfortable, and we got lucky and had a room with a balcony and a gorgeous view. It's definitely a 3 star hotel, nothing glam, but we enjoyed the location and breakfasts as well.
We stayed in Hotel Jungfrau this past June of 2025 and loved it! Our RS My Way Alps tour stayed there.
Pros: charming, clean, location, incredible views, service and wonderful food at both breakfast buffet and the restaurant for dinner
Cons: The bathtub is super deep and that's lovely but it makes for a precarious and somewhat dangerous exit when taking a shower
There's no A/C but that's typical in most all of Switzerland. Opening the windows is easy and the norm
We loved it so much so that we're booked again for Hotel Jungfrau (while not on a tour) this coming fall of 2026.
It's owned by foreign investment. It's probably fine to stay at, but the exterior & grounds are not kept up at all & the restaurant is Malaysian. Not exactly what you come to Switzerland for. I always recommend hotels owned and run by Murren locals who support the small tight knit community.
