Hotel in Zurich

Ill be arriving in Zurich from Grindelwald in May. I'm traveling solo. I'll be in Zurich for one night before flying off.

I'm looking for a hotel for one night in Zurich. Prefabably in the center of town. Walking distance to attractions. Budget less than CHF120. With wifi in the room
Any good recommendations ??

You might have a look at Hotel Walhalla. It's right next to the rail station, has a Tram stop just outside the door, and many of the local tour buses use the lot right across from the hotel. It's less than a five minute walk from the hotel to the station. I found the room to be very modern, clean and comfortable.

I think hotel walhalla is more than CHF 120. But thanks for your recommendation

I haven't looked up the current price, but the Hotel Alexander would be good if you could get a room away from the street. Pros: Very modern, good breakfast, walkable location, next to a grocery store. Cons: Lots of street noise if you have a room facing the street.

I always use the Hotel St. Josef which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. It's always squeeky clean and nice breakfast included.

Tim, thanks for the recommendation but it's a little out of my budget.

I use and contribute to TripAdvisor. I rely on their reviews often.

For something more modern, and it looks like maybe cheaper, try Apart Hotel operated by Hilton.

It is not in the old town but we love it and use it every time. You can probably find mention of it on the RS forum. A double runs about $120 (although on TA it seems to be about $135 right now) and a single about $115. That being said, call them (or email them directly if you cannot call--they do speak english) and you will almost definitely get a better rate. If you are arriving by train then you can go to the airport (ZRH) and then catch their hotel shuttle to the hotel. Get up in the morning, take a nice shower, eat a big breakfast, and take the 5-10 min shuttle to catch your flight.

Good trip!

Switzerland is an expensive country to visit, so be sure to budget accordingly. The cheapest accommodations are in Hostels.

Thanks cabalist & Laura for the recommendations.

Cabalist, I think the hotel is abit far from the city center as I'm not driving. Relying on walking but it's near the airport though.

I just found one called PLATZHIRSCH hotels & bar. It's only CHF75 a night. Not sure if it's good or not. Have you heard before??

The PLATZHIRSCH hotel looks to be in a great location close to the main train station. The reviews on TripAdvisor also look good. For that price I'd jump on it.

Yes guys

It's the hotel that u pointed out. I was quite skeptical. Most of the hotels are above CHF 150. While this is so near the center and so cheap plus the hotel looks good. Was quite skeptical. Lol
