Hotel in Lucerne - Bürgenstock vs Honegg

Spending 3 nights in Lucerne. Does anyone have a recommendation between the two hotels? We prefer boutiques generally but also a modern aesthetic. Price ranges for both are OK. Thanks!

We stayed at Burgenstock for 3 nights and LOVED it. Just know it is NOT in Lucerne. It is high up on a cliff, you have to take a funicular from the hotel down to the boat dock and then take a boat into Lucerne. This is all part of the cost to stay there, so it is NOT extra (or it wasn't when we stayed there). It is stunning and fun and that hotel is amazing - but if you want to be IN Lucerne - this one won't work. That said, we enJOYed the boat ride each day, so it didn't bother us one bit. The lake is part of the experience. The funicular is also fun with amazing views.

I also hear great things about Mandarin Oriental Palace that is in town.

If you don't mind the boat trip, Burgenstock is excellent. One of the best Thai restaurants in that hotel we've ever eaten at.
