Hotel in Lucerne

I've stayed at Hotel Des Alpes which was lovely but may be a bit above your budget.
The Hotel Alpina still has a good location and lists a quadruple room (1 queen and two twins) that might be a match for your needs. You may want to check it out.

Thank you, I will check that out now. I was looking at Hotel Alpha, but it seemed I would need to get two rooms.

It's a chain and bit out of the Old Town, but there is a Holiday Inn Express in Kreins that is very reasonable. It's around the corner from the Mattenhof station, and only 2 stops or so from the main station in Lucerne. And it has air-conditioning, which is a must for me especially while recovering from jet lag.

I've stayed here twice. Close to the train station. One block to the covered bridge.
