My wife and I need to reserve a hotel room in Basel prior to a Rhine River cruise in August. Any suggestions for a locally owned hotel? Rick Steves Switzerland tour book has no information on Basel likely because the RS tours don't go to there.

I stayed at a great hotel in Basel last year-- hotel schweizerhof. The staff was very impressive and it’s conveniently located a few steps from the main train station. I don’t know if it’s locally owned though.
