Hotel Des Alpes Lucerne

Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to give a glowing real time report on the hotel. It is just great. Reasonable price, perfect location. 8 minutes walk from train station. Beautiful view of Chapel Bridge. Excellent breakfast. Beds are comfortable. Staff is all I could ask for. I love the hotel. Lucerne has been a dream trip. I am over the top happy. Grey outside, loads of rain. Nothing can damper the beauty of this city in any way. And the room has plenty of room for doing Yoga and T'ai Chi or any stretching you want to do.

The Lucerne Museum of Art in the Cultural and Conference center has a charming quiet cafe overlooking the river on the 4th floor. So very serene. Only 5 Francs for a tea and you can linger however long you want. So if you are looking for a luxurious moment to just watch the world go by in peace and tranquility, I recommend it. Very few folks there. Excellent place to read. I LOVE YOU LUCERNE

That is great. They do not supply hair conditioner or hand lotion. So, if you do need this item, you will have to purchase here or bring some

July in Lucerne can be hot and humid. Hopefully they have AC. But that’s a rare commodity in Lucerne.

I was ready to book there, but then a Swiss friend recommended the Hermitage. I LOVE the Hermitage, but I still want to stay at Des Alpes too. What to do next trip? (My daughter lives in Lucerne, so there will be a next trip for me, fortunately)

I'm going to Lucerne in July and booked the Marriott (Hotel Collection) because it was one of the few properties with AC. But thanks for all of the tips!

I've stayed their a couple of times about 8 years apart and it was a good value both times.
