Hiking near Lauterbrunnen

Hello,
My family will be staying in Lauterbrunnen for 4 days in about 3 week (mid-to end of September) and would love hike recommendations around Lauterbrunnen, Gimmelwald, Grindelwald. We are staying in Lauterbrunnen, but do have a car so could drive to other locations. We are looking for about 45min-3 hour long hikes with beautiful scenery and views that are fairly easy as we have a 1 year old we will be carrying in a hiking carrier. Thanks so much for your help!

*Short train to Wengen-cable car to Mannlichen-nice flat and beautiful walk
to Kleine Scheidegg and lunch options there-train back to Lauterbrunnen.
*Another is cable car & train to Murren...nice paved path mostly downhill to
Gimmelwald and then enjoy nice lunch at restaurant at the Mountain Hostel
outside with spectacular views-then cable car & short bus ride back into
Lauterbrunnen.

Simply walking the Lauterbrunnen valley is a great way to spend an afternoon.

I agree with the other 2 posters. I have done both . Beautiful vistas and almost effortless.

There are quite a few details of all of these in the Rick Steves book, with maps. Also available as an e-book.

Scroll back a few pages here in the Switzerland Forum to see very similar questions and their detailed answers, too.

Don't forget that the water in fountains as you go is fresh , cold, and tasty - and pure. There are occasional benches on many trails but not all of them come with waste bins. Please pack out what you pack in - but if you are using a hiking carrier you won't need to be told that.

Whoever is carrying baby will need steady feetsies for the end of the trail to Gimmelwald, the trail off to the left is shorter but much more narrow and steep enough that most of that shortcut has irregular steps. Easy enough without a squirmy baby but you will need to think if is the best way with one. The longer less steep original road has no steps.

I have a dozen recommendations, with maps and pics, and I'll send them to you (or anyone else). Look in your private forum mail. If you are signed in, it will say "unread mail" in the upper right. Click on that.

If you click on his name (Shoe) it takes you to his profile. On his profile page is a link to some hikes. These may or may not be the ones he’s (she’s] referring to.
