I am traveling solo on the Best of Switzerland tour in early June. I would like to return to Murren for several days and day hike in the Gimmelwald/Murren area. I do not want to hike alone so I am looking for hiking guides or a groups to hike with.
Can anyone recommend sources to find hiking guides or groups.

I think your best bet would be your guide on the Swiss tour. Another idea might be to check out the website mountainhostel.com and see the hikes they recommend around Gimmelwald, or possibly send them an email to see if they know of guided walks. I really enjoyed hiking in the Berner Oberland, but the issue with hiking is that everyone has their own pace. Even when I hike with my good buddies we tend to spread out and hike in pairs or on our own much of the time. It would be cool to hire a guide that could tell you stories along a favorite trail and explain the nature you're looking at as well.

If, by chance, you are staying with Denise at the Chalet Fontana she can give you detailed information about hikes that would be best suited for your interests and skill level. She also has a friend who can possibly help by being your guide.
