Thoughts on this years snow conditions for hiking above Murren and Wengen this mid June?
Mid June is usually fine for all but the highest elevations, but it's too early to say with absolute certainty. It depends on the spring as well as the winter. For example, two years ago, Europe experienced an average winter, but the spring was much colder than normal. It was almost like there wasn't any spring at all. I didn't hang up my winter coat for the last time until early June.
You still have plenty of time for the snow to melt, but it appears that good winter skiing conditions have lingered longer than normal this year. Click on the öther cameras" icon and you can see Männlichen (above Wengen).
