Hike in murren with Kids

As Allmendhubel is closed, do you guys recommend any hike with kids around 5-6 year old in Murren. We were thinking of doing - Flower Valley trail and Children adventure trail but that wont be possible it seems during our stay between May 29th - June1st.

I have seen conflicting dates for the maintenance closure of the Allmendhubel funicular.

This one and others say closed in April but re-opening 17 May:

But this schedule slays closed from 9 April to 7 June 2024, and also 21 October-6 December

But that one is a pdf attachment to the page above, so who knows. But I think there is a good chance it will be open.

The level walk along the rail tracks to Winteregg or Grutschalp is always nice. So is the walk down to Gimmelwald, with some cows and goats often on view. You can also just walk up the trail into the Flower Valley and turn around when they appear to tire. If you slow down they may well make it up to the playground at Allmendhubel. Our grandchildren did at age 6.

Murran to Gimmelwald on a nice easy downhill paved path with small waterfall and animals-45 min with kids-you’ll end up right by the cable car and Mountain Hostel for refreshments.

Lola is right: lovely walk, however I understand the little train is out of service for May as they are replacing the equipment . Maybe it will be done by the time you are there, but check locally.

Thanks folks. Yeah the dates confuses, so will check when I reach there . If it’s closed than we walk down to winteregg from Murren which is 45 min. So basically we will go from Lauterburren to Murren and than schilthorn. And do this walk while coming back from Murren to winteregg .

If the allmendhubel is closed, you can still walk up if you have the wherewithal to do it--with kids that age, who knows. They seem to have boundless energy until you want them to do something requiring energy, lol.
It was closed when I was there, and I found walking that stretch added about 30-45 minutes to our hikes, but I had covid at the time (unaware), so that likely slowed me down.
