We will be going to Europe in August. We will be leaving Paris September 3rd by train to switzerland. I have yet to decide where we will go and Switzerland and what we will do or where we will stay. I'm looking for recommendations for the best place to stay and things to do for 2 days before we head to Italy for 17 days.
Paris to where in Italy? That would help with a recommendation for Switzerland.
Hi we plan to go from Switzerland to Milan first. We plan to visit Milan Venice Florence Abruzzo the Amalfi Coast and finish in Rome. I am still planning
I have the first part of our trip already planned for the Netherlands Amsterdam Roermond Germany Belgium and paris.
Our plan is to leave Paris and take a train to Switzerland stay there for 2 days and then head to Italy for 17 days
Maybe Lucerne/Luzern and then on to Milan.
There are some great ideas in this video for things to do in Lucerne:

I can recommend the Hotel Des Alpes if they have availability.
Hotel des Alpes has a fabulous location at one end of the Chapel Bridge. However, unless it has added air conditioning in the years since I last stayed there, I can’t recommend it. I would not stay there in summertime heat unless heat doesn’t bother you.
Thank you Carol. I prefer somewhere that has air conditioning
I also would not book a stay in Lucerne without A/C. During our September trip the temps were over 90 degrees farhenheit. Hotel Beau Sejour was a great choice for our visit. Large room; excellent service; A/C; lovely walk along the lake into Old Town. While in Lucerne, you can visit Mount Rigi and/or Mount Pilates. Normally, for a trip to Switzerland, I would first recommend the BO, but if by "2 days", you mean "2 nights" that would not give you enough time to really experience the area.
Yes we plan to be there for two nights I am however considering staying three nights.
Thank you so much Carrie what a great video
This August?! Oh gosh I hope you can find vacant places.
Yes Kevin. Switzerland is September
