Would someone please provide step by step instructions on how to reserve and/or buy tickets in advance on the Golden Pass from Lucerne to Interlaken when I have a Swiss half fare card? I also plan to purchase a Berner Oberland Pass. Do I use the SBB app? How will the app know I have the half fare card and/or the Berner Oberland pass? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you travelers!!

The SBB website starts you off once you pick your From: and To: is to ask about the half-fare cards. The thing to do is try it and seek help from them if there is a problem. The Swiss are VERY organized.

If you have the Berner Oberland Pass, you do not have to do anything except get yourself on the train and show your BOP when the conductor comes by. There is a train once per hour.
If you want reserved seats, you have to buy them from the train's operator, Zentralbahn, and you must do that at their website.

You are overthinking this.
If you are going to have the Berner Oberland Pass the train from Luzern to Interlaken is included. So all you do is go to the station, find the. train and get on.
The "Luzern - Interlaken Express" is a fancy name for what is in essences a normal service train. Used by people to go about their daily business. But getting more tourists on the train means more money, hence the marketting...
