What are the best mountain excursions or sites to see in Lucerne and near Wengen when one in your party is kinda freaked out over gondolas haha. We were thinking Pilatus until we found out that it includes a 30 min gondola trip. So looks like Rigi might be a better option. He might be ok with a short cable car and def ok with cogwheels. Thanks

Take the trains from Wengen up to the Jungfraujoch.

What about some Alprazolam. It helps me with flying and on occasion the gondolas.

Pilatus you do not have to take gondola, and it was not 30 min. The cogwheel train goes up from Alpnachstad (take the regular train there, like 15 min.). We took the gondola down the other side, but I think you can go back down the train.
From Lucerne we also went to Engelberg and to Mt. Titlis and it was awesome. Stopped at Trubsee on the way down and walked around with the cows. A really cool day! But it does take two gondola type things up.
We also took the boat across and the funicular up to the Burgenstock hotel.
