Help with 3 days in Luterbrunnen Valley

Hello,

We are travelling to Zurich reaching there at 11:15 AM and heading straight to Wengen where are staying for 4 nights (3 days). After that we will head to Lucern and spend 3 days there including a daytrip to Bern. I am looking for some help on planning 3 full days in the Lauterbrunnen Valley (Wengen, Murren, Lauterbrunnen, etc.) which includes visiting Falls, going to 2 or so summit and simple hikes. I have a general idea of where we want to go but not the best way to organize it to use the best of 3 days we have there.

Thanks!

Hemal

List where/what you’ve already looked into and are interested in for the area and we can help suggest how to make it flow together as well as possible alternative ideas.

First day weather permitting take the lift from Wengen up to Maennlichen.

Walk the trail from Maennlichen to Kleine Scheidegg (there are places at Maennlichen and Scheidegg where you can go eat)

Take the train back to Wengen.
Day two weather permitting either catch the train up to Jungfrau from Wengen or down to Lauterbrunnen to go up to visit the Schilthorn.
Leave the Schilthorn to Lauterbrunnen and catch the train to Interlaken. At Interlaken catch the boat on Lake Brienz.

Greetings hsolanki!

3 days Itinerary in Lauterbrunnen Valley:

Day 1 - Wengen - Day trip to Grinderwald

Day 2 - Wengen - Day trip to the Jungfrauch Region

Day 3 - Wengen - Head to Lauterbrunnen valley to explore the Falls. After you have seen the falls, continue walking on the valley floor to the Stechelberg Schilthornbahn station. From there, catch the cable car to Gimmelwald. Once you have finished walking around this tiny village, Take s Gondola to Murren from Gimmewald. After exploring Murren, catch the line 141 bus to Lauterbrunnen valley floor and then take cable car back to Wengen.

Some of the above info from RJean is not correct.

“Day 1 - Wengen - Day trip to Grinderwald”

——- Not sure what that really means. You wouldn’t just go to Grindelwald for the day. Perhaps you mean Grindelwald First?

“Day 2 - Wengen - Day trip to the Jungfrauch Region”

—— The Jungfrau Region includes Wengen, as well as Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Grindelwald, etc. so again, not sure what this means.

“Day 3 - After exploring Murren, catch the line 141 bus to Lauterbrunnen valley floor and then take cable car back to Wengen.”

——— You don’t take a bus from Murren. You can exit Murren via a train to Grutschalp and then cable car to Lauterbrunnen OR 2 cable cars via Gimmelwald to Stechelberg and then a bus to Lauterbrunnen.

For 3 full days I’d probably suggest this

1 - Wengen > Mannlichen (optional detour up the Royal Walk) > Walk to Kleine Scheidegg > options from here to go to Jungfraujoch or take the Eiger Express to Grindelwald and either go up to First or explore around Grindelwald before returning to Wengen

2 - Wengen > Lauterbrunnen > Early morning ebike the Valley with stops at Trummelbach Falls, etc. > Cable car up to Grutschalp > Train to Murren > optional up to Allmendhubel or up to Schilthorn/Birg > Schilthornbahn down to Gimmelwald > Schilthornbahn down to Stechelberg > Bus to Lauterbrunnen > Train to Wengen
Or Skip The Valley/falls today and just do Myrren/Gimmelwald and Schithorn or Allmendhubel and save the Valley for next day (see below)

3 - Wengen > Schynigge Platte with optional Panorama Hike to Oberberghorn > optional afternoon/evening boat cruise on Lake Brienz or optional biking/walking Lauterbrunnen Valley + falls
