Any advice would be appreciated, we are planning a trip first of july, didn’t know how to pack for weather? we are planning on traveling by train and already have a hiking tour scheduled. anything else anyone suggests? we are traveling with a 20, 18 and 12 year old. thanks!!

First time to Europe? Easy.
You need to watch some of Rick's TV shows. Available on an endless loop on your local PBS station, the internet and elsewhere. Look for the shows on "European Travel Skills" and on your destination.
Get his book, "Europe Through the Back Door" and start reading. It's an enjoyable read that will make you feel good about your upcoming trip and prepare you for it, it's not miserable homework.
Lots of tips online for packing. Always bring less stuff and more money.

It would help us if we knew where your "hiking tour" was scheduled. Mountain tops? All day or 1 hr hikes? What region of Switz? Etc.

should get plenty of choices to research weather
