We are considering staying in Wengen, at the Apartment Melodie.. Anyone with experience there? Reviews look good, but could use others' opinions as well.. thanks
Our return flight to the US, is at 1:00pm (13:00) out of zurich. Is there enough time to travel from Wengen the day of the flight or do we need to get a hotel in Zurich the final night instead? THANKS
Looks like it is in a nice quiet spot. You will have a bit of a walk to the village though.
The first train from Wengen to the airport gets you there at 8:12. I used to fly a lot out of ZRH before the pandemic (about 20 times a year) and would just take the train in the morning if the flight was after 10:30. For earlier flights I would stay at the airport.
If you do not mind getting up early take the 6:13 down, as that gets you on the direct train from Interlaken to the airport. I have taken that train a few times now to catch a flight. Swiss themselves advise you need 110 minutes from train to plane, so according to them taking the 8:12 would still be ok.

Thats going to be a very noticeable downhill/uphill hike to/from the train station every day. Their suggestion of 8 minutes is generous. I think it will take you longer than that and it won’t be fun with any luggage or groceries or after a long day of hiking.
1:00 flight is fine to get the the airport from Wengen as long as you’re ok with leaving early (SBB for times/routes - I always try to time with the direct train from Interlaken Ost to Zurich Flughafen if I can. It’s nice to only have to transfer luggage twice that way)
