Hard time with itinerary

Flying into Zurich or Geneva September 15. Would like to spend the first part of the trip in OB in hopes of better weather, would also like to do Zermatt. Can’t see a way of doing this easily without backtracking or not doing OB first. Would be in Switzerland for 11-12 days. Last 3 days in Paris then home. Probably 5 days OB, 3 Zermatt. That still leaves 2-4 days in Switzerland before Paris. Any help would be appreciated.

You want Berner Oberland first, yes?

Fly into Zurich head to B.O. - 5 nights
3 days Zermatt
2-3 days Lake Geneva area
Train Geneva to Paris

Wouldn’t that work?

Yes. Didn’t know how long it takes to get to BO from Zurich.

to work out train times use official train website or app. The website is https://www.sbb.ch/en In the From box start typing until the choices pop up - whe you get to Zuri up will pop a load of choices. A few down is Zürich Flughafen - click that. Flughafen is German for airport. Then start typing in the To box and enter Lauterbrunnen and click on the first one. Put in a date you're interested in, any will do, the schedule is the same every day, and time. You will be presented with several choices which give loads of detail. You will see that it will take around 2:45 or so regardless if you have one connection or two (Bern and Interlaken Ost or just Interlaken Ost).

If you were sure which village in the Berner Oberland you are interested in you can put that in instead of Lauterbrunnen and it will route you straight through regardless of method of travel - train, bus, boat, cable car, funicular...

Given your flexible timeline, you could stay Zurich or Lucerne for 1 night after landing before heading on to BO area

So Zurich would be better than Geneva flying in and going to BO? Would Geneva be better for leaving to Paris?

First trip to BO, we landed Zürich, went to Lucerne and then to Grindelwald in the BO. Second trip Milan into Switzerland, did Berner Oberland and Pontresina, returned to Italy.
