My wife and I will be traveling to Zurich next month and want to purchase half fare cards. Where can we get them? We will be flying into Zurich airport. Is there a place in the airport we can get them? If so, specifically where in the airport? Also, If we get them at the airport is there any sort of mark-up in price there, or are they always the same cost?
You can buy Swiss Half Fare cards at the airport railway station. You can buy your half price tickets to wherever you are going that day at the same time, then it is a few steps down an escalator to reach your train.
After you emerge through customs look for signs "Bahn/Railway" (click for photo)
Or you can buy them in advance from the SBB (Swiss Railways) website here: https://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/travel-in-switzerland/international-guests/swiss-halffare-card.html
The price is the same in both cases, CHF 120.
You will need your passports to get the HFC's.
