Hello, all. First time to switzerland. We are joining the 12 days RS swiz and would like to know if the half fare card is better than the point to point ticket.Train ride from zurich to lucerne(1st day) bern to zurich (last day) we will be doing the golden round trip (pilatus) and the san salvatore , not sure yet on the other free times on the other days.tanx for any input/advice

With the Half Fare Card you still need to buy tickets. They just will be half price. So you can buy standard tickets (that for some inscrutable reason SBB has decided to call "point to point" tickets) at half price versus having to buy them at full price.
So the HFC is not something that replaces tickets.
