Grindelwald hiking

From First, I have done the hike to the Bachalpsee from which the mountain views are spectacular. I was wondering about the hike to Grosse Scheidegg. Does anyone know the distance and difficulty level and in particular the beauty factor? Or are there any other suggestions for hiking from there. We are "of a certain age" but still hike!

We loved that hike! It is about 3 miles and took us 1H:45M. We encountered almost no one on the trail whereas at Bachalpsee it was almost congested. We then took the bus down from Grosse-Scheidigg. The restaurant was not open when we were there in early October.

We took that hike last year. Wonderful views and the trail is almost level. Just make sure you get to Grosse Sch. before the buses to Grindelwald stop running. I think that's around 5pm, but you should be able to find the schedule on the Internet.

Glecksteinhütte. My favorite hike in Grindelwald. 2700 ft elevation gain and some narrow spots on the trail with some big dropoffs. If you have a fear of heights, this hike is not for you. The hut is really nice and it has a great view of my favorite mountain Schreckhorn, beside the view of the valley below. Awesome hike! As far as the age thing. I did it at 59.

Thanks, everyone! I did find help at the myswitzerland.com site and others. And to elvisparsely8, we are 70 now, so although that hike sounds amazing, I think it's a bit challenging for us! But thanks for the tip!
